An earthen muddy ochre color handwoven fabric from Karaikudi is a rare base fabric to work with. The motifs we embroidered were small mangoes in bright pepper red outlined with black. A low boat neck for the front and back necklines. Tiny mirrors in clusters of three in a mehendi green color. Woven thread borders across the back. The shades are very subtle and quiet this time. This blouse comes to life as we drape it with a bright pepper red checked saree also from the looms of Karaikudi. Its a coarse kandangi saree and drapes absolutely crisp. This look is ideal for all occasions , simple yet vibrant for day or evening wear. MUSTARD AND PEPPER to brighten our weekend.
